A public interest litigation has been filed in the Madras High Court against the promotion of gambling app. The petition alleges that celebrities promoted online gambling. They include cricketer Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, actor Prakash Raj, Tamanna Bhatia and Rana Daggubati.
According to The News Minute, the petition was heard in the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today. Madurai court has issued notices to celebrities. This mobile app promotes gambling. People have been asked why they promoted gambling app and celebrities when they know it affects them. Apart from these celebrities, the court has also directed the Center and the state governments to respond.
Meanwhile, another petition has been filed in the Madras High Court against Kohli and Tamanna in the same case, seeking their arrest.
